Best Season to Travel

There are two particular season to visit Nepal. Primary season is between October and December, when the skies are a clear blue and the views spectacular. The weather remains dry until about April, with temperatures varying between regions. However, Due to climate change and globe warming December, January and February will be clear in terms of enjoy snowcapped mountains however above 2000m it can be very cold, especially at night, with average temperatures of 6°C. But you’ll be rewarded with clear skies, incredible panoramas and quieter trekking trails, as there are fewer visitors. High altitude trekking is not recommended at this time. Late spring in May is a beautiful time to travel, with the rhododendrons bursting into bloom. Heat and humidity levels build, with temperatures climbing to 35°C.

Currency

The local currency in Nepal is Rupee. Kathmandu airport has a 24 hour bank exchange counter, ATM’s and Money exchange outlets. The Nepalese rupee (Rs) is divided into 100 paisa (p). There are coins for denominations of one, two, five and 10 rupees, and bank notes in denominations of one, two, five, 10, 20, 25, 50, 100, 500 and 1000 rupees. Away from major centres.

Cash withdrawals on credit cards from dispensing machines are available in Kathmandu and Pokhara but should not be relied entirely on for funds. Travellers cheques can be carried in Pounds Sterling or US Dollars and are accepted at banks and major hotels.
